Why Is This Important?
Many families are not happy with, or feel their children cannot be accommodated in, public school systems. Knowing how commonly parents seek care for their child (or the school system places their child) in private school is a reflection of how well public schools are able to provide adequate services.
Educators, policy makers, and parents are interested in what types of education children with ASDs are receiving, and in what setting.
Data from IAN Research:

This chart shows that 75% of the children in IAN Research with an Autism Spectrum Disorder are being educated in a public school setting of some kind.
