Why Is This Important?

Researchers are interested in genetic factors: do issues involving development or learning appear together with ASDs in some families?  Knowing whether a person has received special education services (other than speech therapy) will tell us if they ever experienced difficulties in these areas.

Data from IAN Research:

Pie chart showing percentage of fathers participating in IAN Research who have received special education services (not speech and language therapy).

This chart shows that 7% of the fathers taking part in IAN Research, at some time in their lives, received special education services.
