Autism and Regression
Since autism was first described, there have been reports of young children gaining language or other skills only to lose them. What has recent research revealed about such regression in children with autism spectrum disorders? What do IAN families report about skill loss in their children?
Explore the topic of regression in IAN Research Report #6.
Autism and the Cost of Treatment
Families with a child on the autism spectrum face many challenges. One of these is choosing treatments. Another is paying for them. Read about the financial impact on families in...Autism and Health care: Sticker Shock.
Antipsychotic Medication
The term "antipsychotic" sounds frightening to many parents, yet medications in this category are often prescribed for children with ASD. In this article, Richard Malone, M.D., of Drexel University explains what these medications are and when they might be prescribed.

Family Input Shapes Parental Depression History Questionnaire
When the IAN Project first launched, the number of parents reporting a history of depression was extremely high compared to that of the general population. Families and researchers alike have been interested in exploring why. In addition, both groups helped design the questionnaire that we hope will provide answers.
