Third IAN Research Report

The IAN Project has been underway for six months, and over 18,500 individuals (mothers, fathers, children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and siblings) are registered to participate. Data is pouring in!

In our third IAN Research Report, read about the latest findings, including how many children with ASDs are using one-on-one aides in the classroom and how rates of parental depression appear to vary by child's diagnosis.

Evaluating Treatments

There are so many treatments offered for children on the autism spectrum that it can be truly bewildering. Even after you try a treatment, how do you know whether it is working?

In this article, we offer some suggestions about what to consider as you evaluate treatments, and relate these back to research principles you can apply at home.

Read our Evaluating Treatments Article.

Environmental Aspects

What do scientists mean when they say that both genetic and environmental factors play a role in causing autism?

In our introduction to the Environmental Aspects of Autism section, we explore the definition of environment and how genetic (inside-out) and environmental (outside-in) factors may overlap.

Explore these complex concepts in: Environmental Aspects of Autism.
