I am not sure if I am in the right spot for this, but it's the closest to topic I can find for my question!

My niece was diagnosed 2 years ago with PDD. She was put on a GF/CF/Dairy Free/Soy Free/Wheat Free diet. It has been very hard for us, especially through the holidays and family gatherings. Are there any cookbooks or books that cover all of these? Anybody with any suggestions. The health food store is very expensive, and we want to try to keep making things for everyone that she can have also, but it's very limited........

Open to any and all suggestions or help!!

Thanks

Hi nataliann, and welcome to IAN.

Because we are a research-focused site, I'm afraid we can't recommend specific books or products surrounding a specific treatment (like one of the diets).

There are, however, many books on offer through some of the publishing companies focused on autism, such as Future Horizons or Jessica Kingsley. Their websites are here:

http://www.fhautism.com/
http://www.jkp.com/

I would think the best place to find such information would be from other families using the diets. You might contact the local chapter of the Autism Society of America, for example, to see if there is a support group or another way to learn from other families: http://www.autism-society.org/site/PageServer?pagename=community_chapters

Another possibility is a local autism conference or workshop where the diets are being discussed.
