Former NIMH Director Joins Autism Science Foundation
Thomas R. Insel, MD, has been named to the board of directors of the Autism Science Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes autism research. Dr. Insel, 66, directed the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) from 2002 to 2015. A neuroscientist and psychiatrist, he previously directed the Center for Behavioral Neuroscience at Emory University in Georgia. The Autism Science Foundation announced the appointment this month.
